According to British media reports, Manchester United have allegedly made first formal contacts with the representative of Juventus defender Alex Sandro as his side hold out for £43.7m for the player’s signature this summer transfer window.
The Brazil international full back has long been connected with a transfer to Old Trafford and it looks like things are progressing now, though French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are also keen, as per Gazzetta dello Sport.
Manchester United urgently require the service of a new left full-back after below-par campaigns from Ashley Young and England international defender Luke Shaw as options in that role, with Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho unsurprisingly seeking for more of a natural player in the role.
The Red Devils require a top class footballer in every role if they are to favorably challenge neigbours Manchester City for the Premier League title next term, with the Red Devils finishing a whole 19 points adrift them in the 2017/18 campaign.
It is notable as well that Manchester City spent huge on full-backs last term, bringing in England international defender Kyle Walker, Danilo and France international Benjamin Mendy as three new signings in that role.
While it was not always the most vital position on the field, football clubs increasingly make use of wing-backs or full-backs as major attackers and it is Alex Sandro’s qualities in that position that will make the Brazil international defender so appealing to top clubs like Premier League giants Manchester United and French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint Germain.
